The Little Match Girl

For Symphonic Band, Choir, Soloist, Narrator and Dancers

By

Leonard Duarte

Hans Christian Andersen's classic Christmas time story comes alive in Leonard Duarte's impressionistic score that captures the mood of a snowy winter night.

On a bitterly cold December night one little girl cannot go home until she sells her bundle of matches. As she lights one after another to keep warm, her gray world magically changes before her eyes. The music depicting each vision is luminous, warm and tender. This piece may be performed with or without choir or dancers but the narrator is essential for a complete understanding of the composition. Full band, score, and parts. Choir parts are available from the publisher.
