Emblem of Freedom

By

Leonard Duarte

This is a concert march written in honor of "Old Glory" - our flag.  The march opens with a brilliant introduction followed by a beautiful melody in the tenor range of the band with contrasting counter melody in the woodwinds and the second strain offers a dramatic change into a soft lyrical trio. Like other Duarte marches, the "Dog-fight" and ending strain demand maximum strength from the brass and agility from the woodwinds.
